Ely Mindfulness Centre
Ely Mindfulness Centre was set up in September 2015 by Sarah Parkin.
Her aim for the Centre is to offer affordable, professional, high quality Mindfulness training in a warm, encouraging, relaxed environment.
Sarah's interest in and experience of Mindfulness began around 15yrs ago with her own attendance at a Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Course. Following this she continued with her own training both formally and informally and has now taught, for a number of years, a variety of Mindfulness courses to both students and staff at Cambridge University and more recently, co-facilitated MBSR courses at Cambridge Buddhist Centre. Sarahs work as a Mindfulness trainer is both with individuals and in group settings. Creating and leading workshops that focus both on the underpinning philosophy of Mindfulness and on the practice of Mindfulness itself.
Sarah is listed on the UK Network for Mindfulness-Based Teacher Training Organisations which ensures the integrity of Mindfulness classes and recognises trainers whose practice meets the Good Practice Guidelines.
Sarah has a background in nursing and health visiting and trained as a counsellor over 20 yrs ago. Since then she has had a successful career as a counsellor, supervisor and trainer; working as a therapist within the NHS, University of Cambridge Staff Counselling Service and independent practice, and as lead trainer on three of the regions respected counsellor training courses. She currently works independently as a therapist and continues her training work with Cambridge Supervision Training with whom she is one of three partners.
